Philippians 2:1-11
2 Therefore if there is any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and mercy, 2 fulfill my joy by being like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. 3 Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. 4 Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others. The Humbled and Exalted Christ 5 Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, 6 who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, 7 but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. 8 And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. 9 Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, 11 and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

  2. I really loved the reference to that God, came down and emptied himself, working in complete selflessness, took the lowliest form in order to save us. In which he did not consider the pain He was going through but rather what He needed to do for us, in order to show us His love and save us. Now after grasping all that, and considering the God of all things, and His actions, remembering how much more, us humans need to do. How can God come down for our sake, to die for our sins, and completely empty Himself, while we only consider our own self gain? Many times I think of if I had a son, could I sacrifice my son like the prophet Abraham did? considering we are only talking about a human, think about how much more meaningful it is that God the creature of all things, did that, and remember that when we go about our everyday interactions with people.
thank you for the wonderful reflection, it really means a lot to me.

  3. At times we become so concerned with our own selves, we leave no room for Him; we must empty ourselves to make space for Him. I once heard that there is a piece of your heart that can only be filled by Him, and a piece of His heart that can only be filled by you. Empty yourselves to make room for Him to fill that piece of your heart.

    Thanks Marc
